Following on the heels of their 2013 full-length “Once Hidden from Sight” and a 2016 split with Nethermost (USA), it’s hard not to notice the risen ambitions and wider scope presented on Vin de Mia Trix’s new double-album “Palimpsests”. The Kyiv-based band has always combined various doom metal genres and influences and aimed to create intelligent and touching, yet uncompromisingly heavy and dark music, but the songwriting depth, versatility, and atmosphere on “Palimpsests” is on another level compared to their past albums. Palimpsests is an album about archetypes, the stories and characters that exist deep inside our collective subconsciousness, stories so significant and influential that they appear in various peoples' and cultures' mythology. Concepts like rebirth through sacrifice, stealing knowledge from the gods, or the great cleansing flood can be found anywhere from Hinduism through Ancient Greek myths to Christianity, proving their importance in shaping societies and civilizations. These stories are told to this day, and “Palimpsests” album tries to retell them once again, adding to the eternal cycle. The name “Palimpsests” summarizes the spectrum of themes the band aims to convey and embodies the concept of multi-layered meanings and symbols expressed through musical, lyrical, and visual content. Musically, “Palimpsests” is rooted in Extreme Doom, venturing occasionally into the territories of Prog Rock and Post-Metal. Mixing and mastering were handled by Damon Good of the mighty Mournful Congregation, making sure the production quality matches the music's ambitiousness. The double album is presented as a 4-panel digipack with an exclusive 36-page booklet designed by the Kyiv-based Seri/graf Studio.

Started in Finland in the Summer of 2019, Autumnfall is a creation of Jussi Hänninen (ex-Fall of the Leafe, The Bleak Picture), conceived as spiritual successor to Fall of the Leafe’s early works. Soon after writing the first song Hänninen asked T. Ruohonen to join as the vocalist. A four track demo was released in late 2019 and it was during this time that Ruohonen asked O. Pirkkanen to join for the drum duties. Autumnfall pays tribute to FOTL first albums when mixing melodic black metal with some death metal elements while adding modern atmospheres and melodies. The first full-length album "Ghosts of Light" was written and recorded between 2019 and 2020, then mixed, mastered and digitally released in 2021. It was suppose to come out in physical format in 2021 but the plans fell through due to various reasons.

В альбоме 2005 года "Akkortheon" в творчество NORD"N"COMMANDER впервые врывается третье действующее лицо - аккордеон. Название данного музыкального инструмента, собственно, и обыгрывается в названии материала в некоем мистическом ключе. Почти вся аранжировка строится на аккордеонных риффах и проигрышах, которые разбавляются декламацией, программированными ударными и изредка сэмплированными хорами. Сами участники NORD"N"COMMANDER называют стиль данного альбома "quasi funeral doom". Блюстители чистоты funeral-стиля, тем не менее, не должны остаться разочарованными. Отсутствие "гитарастии" не нарушает, но, наоборот, акцентирует мрачный, "обволакиващий" колорит. Именно от "обволакивать", кстати, образовалось слово "облако".. Так чем же нас "обволакивает" "Akkortheon"? Может быть, как раз обаками, а может, туманом, но скорее всего, лавой. Эта лава есть не только некая материальная субстанция, но и нечто более тонкое, слитое из древних воспоминаний и предчувствий этих воспоминаний в будущем. Именно колорит Лавы угадывается в звуках аккордеона и в вокале - мелодика языка, помноженная на мелодию звука и нот. Голоса Равноденствия... Отсвет догорающих флюидов... Мембраны на кожистых крыльях... В общем, мы втянуты в некий сюжет. Taste it!
