DARKNESS - немецкая thrash metal группа, активная с 1984-го по 1991-ый. В 2004-ом группа собрала реюнион под именем EURE ERBEN и в таком виде просуществовала до 2012-го, даже выпустив один альбом. В 2013-ом группа вернулась к первоначальному названию. В дискографии DARKNESS немало демо-записей, пара компиляций и пять полноформатных альбомов. "Over And Out" - новый получасовой EP альбом DARKNESS, релиз которого состоялся 27-го ноября 2020-го на Massacre Records. Включает перезаписанную версию песни "Armageddon" (с одной из первых демо-записей DARKNESS) и кавер на SKID ROW "Slave To The Grind". Запись и сведение обеспечил Cornelius Rambadt из Rambado Recordings Studio (SODOM, DISBELIEF, ONKEL TOM ANGELRIPPER. Мастерингом занимался Dennis Köhne, работавший с EXUMER, ORDEN OGAN, BONDED.

С продюсированием и записью помогал Oliver Philipps (EVERON, SATYRIAN), работавший с DELAIN, ANCIENT RITES и WOLVERINE. Мастерингом руководил Tom Müller, доводивший до ума альбомы BONFIRE, JADED HEART, ATROCITY. Обложкой и оформлением "A Woman’s Diary - The Hidden Chapter" занимался Jan Yrlund, чьи работы украшают релизы KORPIKLAANI, MANOWAR, AMBERIAN DAWN и многих других.

Next album - next topic. Minority Sound like to experiment. Eventhough it might not be an experiment in common sense they like to try what they haven't tried before. And this is the case of Toxin. The album's topics are mental disorders, addictions, envy, hate and ... love. Love to a woman, love to a man, love to drugs, love to yourself and of course all of its dark sides. It is an album of many genres. Ranging from harsh industrials, through melodic Metal, Death Metal, Thrash Metal to very modern approach and it cannot be put into one specific box. Minority Sound have picked Dan Friml's The Barn studios to record the album. And it happened during 14 cold December days of 2018. Final mix and mastering has been yet again given to a canadian producer Rom di Prisco and the overall sound is once more way ahead of its predecessors. Interesting fact is that all the songs for Toxin were composed quite quickly during 4 month in Fall 2017. That's something unique if we take into account that previous records were composed in a matter of years. Maybe it was given by the mood of the main brain of the band: Otus Hobst who went through a couple of rock-bottom falls and mental breakdowns during 2017. We can say that Toxin is kind of a detox from the negative thoughts. It is about things that simply had to get out and that's what makes this album immediate and emotive. Lyrics were co-written by Tom F. Hanzl, better known as Chymus. Lyrics-wise they really were on the same line with Otus so even this matter takes everything to a new level.

The album sees CEREMONY at the height of their creative output, as the always-evolving Rohnert Park quintet take various influences from post punk and rock to create one of the summer's most compelling and infectious records. "In the Spirit World Now" is full of layered sonic fury and anxiety, each song building up to a point and then descending down through a militant, catchy hook. “Turn Away the Bad Thing” sets the tone, guitars climbing around the driving bass line, as Ross Farrar sings, “It’s getting harder for me to be alright/Eyes adjusting to the dark/The momentum of all these last resorts built inside of me.” Songs like “Presaging the End” and “Calming Water” feel romantic and distressed, while “Further I Was” and “Years of Love” are driven by Farrar’s rebellious energy as he repeats the hook with a deadpan realness. “Years of love can be forgotten/In the hatred of a day.” But the true stand-out is the title track, “In the Spirit World Now”, a haunting pop gem with a sticky chorus and lead synth riff that plants itself in your head as Farrar chants the track’s name over and over like a mantra. “In the Spirit World Now" is a sort of nebulous and ectoplasmic place where things may not be quite what they seem,” he says. “It means sh*t is about to get weird.” The album marks a milestone for this Northern California punk outfit who have stayed true to themselves as songwriters throughout massive sonic growth throughout their storied career.
