Maeskyyrn is a black metal entity born of Montreal, Quebec, in 2017. It released a first demo, “Thoughts Of Shattered Dreams,” in January 2018, and assembled as a live band. On October 17, 2019, the sky will turn black as Maeskyyrn prepares to reveal Interludes, their first full length, to the mortal world. With its raw guitars and tortured screams, the full band’s aesthetic is reminiscent of the second wave of black metal. But deep under its charcoaled skin, Maeskyyrn takes advantage of modern technologies, as can be seen in the drum recording, overall production, and layers of discrete background synth. Indeed, as the album title suggests, Maeskyyrn brings forth a number of atmospheric interludes, thus pacing the album with brief uncomfortable moments of respite, before dragging you into the darkest pits with a series of long, punishing tracks. The end result is a traditional but highly unorthodox black metal album, with hints of eclecticism that reveal themselves and grows on you upon each listen, slowly rotting you to the core. This album will appeal to fans of black metal in general, but also to those who have been following Hypnotic Dirge Records since its very first inception. HUMAN FORTRESS - образованная в 1997 году немецкая группа, исполняющая эпичный и мелодичный power metal. Сведением и мастерингом занимался продюсер Tommy Newton (гитарист VICTORY), работавший с GAMMA RAY, HELLOWEEN, CRYSTAL BALL а также над первыми двумя альбомами HUMAN FORTRESS. HATRIOT - американская thrash metal группа, сформированная в Калифорнии в 2010-м году. Вокалистом и одним из основателей HATRIOT был Steve "Zetro" Souza из EXODUS. В 2014-м Стив был вынужден покинуть группу ради EXODUS и место вокалиста занял его сын Cody Souza (игравший до этого в HATRIOT на басу). В дискографии HATRIOT дебютное одноименное дэмо 2011-го года, один сингл и три полноформатных альбома - Heroes of Origin (2013), "Dawn of the New Centurion" (2014) и "From Days unto Darkness" (2019). "Dawn of the New Centurion" - второй полноформатный альбом HATRIOT, вышедший в феврале 2014-го на лэйбле Massacre Records. Вся работа над альбомом велась в калифорнийской студии Trident Studios с продюсером Juan'ом Urteaga (работавшим с MACHINE HEAD, TESTAMENT и CATTLE DECAPITATION), оформлением занимался Mark DeVito (делавший обложки и дизайн для MOTÖRHEAD, EXODUS и NEWSTED). EDGUY - немецкая power metal группа, основанная в 1992-м году 14-летними студентами, в основе которой был вокалист (и басист на ранних работах) Tobias Sammet, гитарист Dirk Sauer, барабанщик Dominik Storch и гитарист Jens Ludwig. Для названия группы они взяли прозвище своего учителя по математике, которого между собой называли "Edguy". В дискографии группы несколько дэмок, EP и синглов, пара концертных релизов и компиляций, DVD и десять полноформатных альбомов. "Theater Of Salvation" - четвертый полноформатный альбом EDGUY, релиз которого состоялся в феврале 1999-го года на AFM Records. "The Eminence of Nature" - девятый полноформатный альбом CORONATUS, вышедший 29-го ноября на Massacre Records. Запись, сведение и мастеринг альбома проходили в немецкой студии "Klangschmiede Studio E", которой владеет Markus Stock (EMPYRIUM, THE VISION BLEAK) работавший с EISREGEN, AUTUMNBLAZE, GREEN CARNATION а также над всеми предыдущими полноформатными работами CORONATUS. Оформлением занимался Jan Yrlund из Darkgrove Design, работавший с KORPIKLAANI, AMBERIAN DAWN, MANOWAR и многими другими.

Guitarwork shows a honest devotion for the classic Sabbathesque sound, rather than being a mere copycat or another contestant for the stupid heavier-than-thou competition that’s been flooding the Doom Metal scene for years. They may not have the thickest distortion out there but you don’t really need that if you can write such memorable bluesy riffs and catchy, ripping leads. Rhythm section gives a proper sense of heaviness with effective, twisting basslines and pounding drumming. A fresh lyrical concept, based on the works of legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, adds that thrilling feeling of intrigue of the Master of Suspense as the tension builds up through these nine tracks. About the production, it has a vintage quality without falling into any “retro” gimmick.
