funeral doom, Endless Winter
Krief de Soli’s approach of Funeral Doom is not revolutionary. Still, it is a pleasant one. Hailing from Canada and under the sole direction of Egregoir de Sang, Procul Este, Profani… brings forth three tracks, each exceeding the 15 minutes mark. If you like your Funeral Doom liturgical and loaded with keyboards, there’s a good chance you might appreciate Krief de Soli's debut effort. All the lyrics are sung in Latin and are excerpts from the Apocalypsis. That sets the tone. Still there is more light than darkness in this record and somehow it happens to remind me of Ahab’s The Call of the Wretched Sea, not so much musically but rather for all the atmospheres created that have somehow an epic edge to them. Each song is built following the same canvas: long and slow introductions and then the momentum picks up to end in final apotheosis. Simple and yet very effective. Egregoir de Sang even blesses us with muffled blast beats on Mei Oculus Devorati Sunt Tenebris... which gives some welcome and yet unexpected dISEMBOWELMENT flavor to it. On the other hand, if you're somewhat allergic to keyboards, you may find yourself overwhelmed with them, especially since they have a naive feel to them. In 'Benediction Domini Sit Vobiscum', they almost sound like the soundtrack to a Bollywood film, but strangely this adds up to the religiosity of the track and blends in nicely. Obviously it’s nothing close to Skepticism or the aforementioned Ahab but it is reasonable to imagine that the band's future may exceed greater expectations. Despite a few flaws, Krief de Soli’s debut is perfectly enjoyable and, among the many stillborn projects pertaining to the genre, this certainly stands out as being one of the most pleasant releases of this year.

"Munus Solitudinis" is an audio experience that will reject without mercy who comes close without the necessary "knowledge" that the funeral doom requires, but, in reverse, who have the sensitivity to be enchanted by this pure concentrate of existential anguish, will be attracted like a moth.

death doom metal, Endless Winter
The musical project originated in 2013. During the long winter nights, the first songs were written and they came up with a title “Frost on Graves”. When the band had got together they played a live show in 2014, following which the roads of members of the band diverged, except two of them: the project's founder, known under the alias Maahzur Phalmorg, and the guitar player, Arkhatriis Metus. They went on working on the musical material, changed the name of the project and, in early 2017, recorded the “Resounding From The Obscurity” EP, at which the plot is based on the events that take place on planet Khorrendus. The Sleepers of the underworld kingdom Mohraang awoke, lusting for flesh and blood and caused the collapse of humanity. Once again the human race had been destroyed by inrush of dreadful monsters from the planet's depths, of whose existence only the remains of ancient ruins could hint.

Throne (Italy) was born in the 2012 under the influence of alcohol from the most disadvantaged bars. In the same year, the Italian combo hits the first full length "Avoid the Light" produced by Moonlight Records. The quintet combines sharp riffs, powerful and dark themes into a sludge-core look like Louisiana swamp, with doom and stoner pills to make it darked and depraveted. After five years of live show with bands such as The Secret, Hierophant, Black Cobra, Bison BC, Saturnalia Temple, Forgotten Tomb and Caronte.

Wolf Counsel consists of four veteran musicians that played, toured and recorded with various bands for nearly 30 years. „Destination Void“ will have an even more traditional approach to Doom Metal than their older efforts. Dominant drums, harmonic eerie riffing and haunting melodies will mark the evolving process of this band that will reminisce listeners to all the forefathers of heavy Doom Metal but adding very personal signature trademarks and a very dark voice leading that runs like a common thread throughout this new full-length album.

Spanish duo Graveyard of Souls are presenting their fourth album. In their new work, the masters of melodic death-doom metal continue in the direction, that they mastered with previous albums - a mid-tempo death-doom metal with crushing riffs and breathtakingly beautiful melodies. The sound of GoS is eerie and majestic, wandering and pleasant at the same time, luring the listener into the burial ground of their souls. Despite the fact, that all albums of GoS are similar like twins, their sound is interesting and pleasant.

drone / funeral doom metal, Endless Winter
Mohraang, a drone/funeral doom metal project from the distant lands in the Russian Far East, was created in 2014 by a person who bears the nickname Maahzur Phalmorg; until now it's music was self-published with extremely limited editions. Main idea of the project was to bring the fantasies sprung from the mind of its creator to life, not sticking to specific musical styles. Mohraang is a realm of beasts under the ground of a hostile planet titled Khorrendus. From the very first seconds of the album you are carried away to the cold and grim maze of underground tunnels with a corresponding musical background. Your consciousness, stripped away from your dead body, drifts into the unknown in pursuit of the things yet undiscovered.

While you were peacefully dreaming, mating and enjoying your life under the warm summer sun, the Beast was waiting for the hour. In the suffocating morning mist of the moist gullies and ravines, under the sunken roofs of abandoned hospitals and factories, in the pitch darkness of the caves it was growing fat and covering self with impenetrable scales preparing for one perfect day to ruin all your joys and pleasures. With a single stroke of its claws it will destroy all that is precious to you and what you dream of in your cozy shells of hopes. Because its name is The Time and we're just the miserable ephemeral plants under its steps. Even knowing that Lethe will drown us in its turbid waters, we can't resist it...

psychedelic doom metal, Endless Winter
Premarone was born in 2010 on the initiative of four friends who decided to give the band the name of the place in which they meet to rehearse, a tiny hillside village in North Italy. Starting from doom metal, psychedelic and progressive/kraut influences, the sound of the group prefers dark, obsessive and hallucinated atmospheres, but is also characterized by an aggressive attitude. After the recording of a self-produced four track demo, in 2015 Nicotine Records proposes to Premarone the publishing of an album, thus "Obscuris Vera Involvens" is born. The following year the band starts working on the new album, a disquieting concept called "Das Volk der Freiheit".
