Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago in the 80"s was a great time and place to be a kid. With plenty of bad weather and middle class parents, video games and music in the basement was where it was at. Merging the two past times into an artistic endeavor seemed like an obvious choice for Super 8 Bit Brothers" masterminds Rob Kleiner (Tub Ring, ex-Mindless Self Indulgence) and Kevin Gibson (Tub Ring, pet lover). Super 8 Bit Brothers combines danceable indie pop with lyrics ripe with arcade lingo for people who"d rather stay inside or do a basement boogie. Performing live since 2004 at video game conventions and rock clubs with such artists as Mindless Self Indulgence, Electric Six, Foxy Shazam, The Mini Bosses, Null Sleep, The Show is the Rainbow, Bit Shifter and Gil Mantera"s Party Dream. Their stylish remixes have also charted on both the Billboard top 200 and CMJ top 200. In 2008 they performed live on Fox"s "Fearless TV". "Melee," the bands 1st record, was released independantly in 2005 which started a buzz in both the music and video game community. After some time working in their underground labs, S8BB decided it was time to present their new album "Brawl" full of dance numbers and sing a long hits. Equally ready to fill the sonic space of rock clubs, arcades, and dance parties!

The Bulgarian Black Folklore ensemble Svarrogh of Dimo Dimov has recorded another masterpiece of Ritual Folk music. "Balkan Renaissance" is already the 4th Svarrogh album under the banner of the god of the sun. This mystic sound-journey drags you along to the ancient heart of the Balkan mountains, its caves, rivers, villages and people with their deep mythological roots. Svarrogh"s sound is absolutely unique, not only because of the beautiful mandoline-playing and the bagpipes, mixed with droning synths, which envocate the return of the sun. Svarrogh creates a musical look through a grey window to discover the dark past of Bulgaria??s 19th century and its Renaissance, after years of osman opression. On "Balkan Renaissance" you can listen to original passages of famous bulgarian poets and artists like Dora Gabe, Elisaveta Bagryan, Elin Pelin, Dimitar Talev or the amazing poems of Ivan Vazov. On this album, Dimo Dimov also pays a tribute to the genious music of Allerseelen with the song "Kamerad". And as a special feature, the CD will also contain a so called Martenitsi. Martenitsa is a Bulgarian heathen/pagan tradition related to March 1, which has its origin in the establishment of the Bulgarian state in 681 AD. Mart is the Bulgarian word for "March". According to Bulgarian folklore, the month March marks the beginning of springtime. Therefor, the first day of March is a traditional holiday associated with sending off the winter and welcoming the spring. Key-figures in these ancient traditional rites are the Kukeri, the demons who banish winter and invite spring and fertility. The Kukeri are the Balkan counterpart to the Austrian and south Bavarian Perchten. This album is full of traditional-, pagan- and ritual Folk music, Neo-Classical songs, Martial drummings and it has even some Industrial moments. - 18 tracks / 73 min.

"Yer Su" is the 5th full length bulgarian folklore avantgarde doctrine and the 3rd release under the banner of the bearer of european heritage Ahnstern. Svarrogh (Dimo Dimov) presents here a very complex post folk experience, trully dedicated to the holy earth-water Yer Su from the mystic and ancient bulgarian pantheon of Tangra - nonetheless it also shows the symbiotic allegiance to slavic mythology and european culture from the depths of the Pamir mountains and meadows through the slavic steppes up to the Balkan realms. Traditional bulgarian instruments like Gaida (bagpipe), Gadulka (balkan viola), Tamboura (big mandoline), Kaval (balkan shepherd flute), Ocarina, Clarinet, vocals in bulgarian, italian, english, lithuanian, Guitars and Drums arranged to a balkan post folk and avantgarde dark folk adventure with ambient drones, elements of Industrial & Black Metal and traditional compositions. Feat. very special guests like Kostas (Defile des Ames), Marcel P. (Allerseelen), Valentina (Der Feuerkreiner), Michael Z. (Negura Bunget) and Gyte Tamosiunate. All songs lead eachother through the central theme with snowsteps interludes recorded on the Hochries Mountain in Upper Bavaria and with a ritual lithuanian evocation. An album for the sparkling water which flows through europe, an album for the warm black earth, which lays a quilt over the ones, who stand strong through the fall of time, seen by the silvery eyes of the sky Tangra.
