The first CD-single in the history of the band is preceding the forthcoming new album. Mournful Gust presents absolutely new composition with exclusive arrangements which is different from the album version. “Sleeping With My Name” performed in the best traditions of gothic doom metal continues the line of the previous album “The Frankness Eve” which got very positive response from listeners and critics. The musicians also paid tribute to the great vocalist Ronnie James Dio by a sensual cover-version of “Rainbow Eyes” song by Rainbow. The album features two additional remixes of the title composition.

Há tempos sem lançar algum material com inéditas, eis que esses ucranianos aportam com um single de 4 músicas, sendo uma inédita, uma versão para Rainbow Eyes do Rainbow, e 2 versões remix da faixa inédita.

Sleeping with my Name podemos considerar como um próximo passo a ser seguido por esses músicos. Ainda encontramos muito do que ele já fizeram anteriormente, intacto, mas algumas passagens nos trazem uma modernidade em sua música. Agora resta-nos esperar pelo o que virá em seu próximo full-lenght.

Rainbow Eyes serve de homenagem para o saudoso baixinho do heavy metal, onde nessa versão (dessa bela canção diga-se de passagem) ganhou um approach mais “dark” com um feeling goth/doom para ela. Se aquela balada servia para confortar um coração partido, essa versão serve como inspiração para fazer coisas piores consigo mesmo.

Sleeping with my Name (Xes Dreams Remix) tem uma sonoridade um pouco minimalista, para não dizer introspectiva. Mesmo com uma nuance electro, ela não perdeu o feeling dark dela e renderá até uma certa diversão.

Sleeping with my Name (Bejalane & G_m Remix) já tem uma pegada mais voltada para essas baladas electro/goth, o que resulta você estando numa balada e acaba passando batido por essa faixa sem se importar. Agora você em casa e ouví-la, acaba se tornando um pouco maçante, a não ser que esteja ocupado demais lavando a louça para desligar o player na hora em que ela começa a tocar.

Released through Solitude Productions, Ukrainian death/doom metal seven piece (Yes, seven!) are looking to the future and for a brief glimpse into that future here is their new single release entitled “Sleeping With My Name”. Now this single release is padded out with two remix’s of the title song as a lot of single releases are but I’m skipping over them as I have a deep seated dislike of remix’s. “Sleeping With My Name” though is a mournful little number, slow, emotional and tugging at ones heart strings right from the off by using a flute to wander through the harsher guitar tones, adding an air of sorrow and betrayal into the mix. Growled vocals come into play that accentuate the music well but the real beauty of this sound is the depth of melodies contained within, and the cleaner vocals that permeate the release too giving it a haunting quality. Incessantly dark, bleak, humble and melancholy, this is a well made look into what is to come from Mournful Gust!
