ATROCITY - немецкая death metal группа, сформированная в 1985-ом году Александром Круллом, который остается её фронтмэном по сей день. С 1985-го по 1988-ой группа играла грайндкор под именем INSTIGATORS, но позже сменила его на ATROCITY и выпустила дебютный death metal альбом "Hallucinations" (1990). Начиная с третьего альбома "Blut" (1994) ATROCITY стали экспериментировать с готическим звучанием, применением индастриал элементов и добавлением прочих, нестандартных для классического death metal звучания жанров. На сегодняшний день в дискографии группы семь полноформатных альбомов, с десяток сплитов, EP и демок, а также немало альбомов-коллабораций и компиляций. Весь состав ATROCITY полностью задействован в группе LEAVES' EYES. "Okkult II" - восьмой полноформатный альбом ATROCITY, релиз которого состоялся 6-го июля на Massacre Records. "Okkult II" является частью трилогии "Okkult", первая часть которой вышла на том же Massacre Records в апреле 2013-го и стала своеобразным возвращением ATROCITY к death metal корням с применением симфонических аранжировок. На "Okkult II" в качестве гостевых вокалистов приняли участие L.G. Petrov (ENTOMBED A.D.) и Marc Grewe (MORGOTH). Обложку и артворк 20-страничного буклета оформил Stefan Heilemann, работавший с альбомами групп LINDEMANN, PAIN, KAMELOT, EPICA и многих других. Packaged in a jewel case, a 20-page booklet.

Название группы - заклинание Мерлина из фильма Джона Бурмана "Экскалибур", которое лингвист Майкл Эверсон расшифровал как "змеиное дыхание". Дискография британцев насчитывает ряд демок, EP и 7 полноформатных альбомов, а музыкальная составляющая далеко ушла от первоначальных сырых блэковых настроений - за счет влияния грайндкора и дэт-металла. Постепенно работы британцев обрастали сессионными музыкантами, а с конца 2005-го года началась концертная деятельность. "Desideratum" - восьмой полноформатник британцев, которые традиционно сами занимаются сведением, мастерингом и продюсированием альбома. Помимо различных приглашенных музыкантов, среди которых засветился и лидер шведской SHINING Niklas Kvarforth, на "Desideratum" можно услышать британского диджея и продюсера GORE TECH, тесно работавшего с ANAAL NATHRAKH последний год и создавшего для альбома электронные секции.

From the onset of “Faces Turn Away”, an all-encompassing sense of existential terror and claustrophobic anxiety hits you and builds to a crescendo before everything descends into dread and finally nothingness. An album about the misery, futility, and madness of modern urban life, related in some ways to releases by netra but foregoing much of the trip-hop influence for a more abrasive and gritty black metal root that feels both urgent and cavernous. Besides its Black Metal root, the album also knows when to slow to a crawling funeral dirge to convey total despair and the loss of hope. A modern take on classic black metal marked by unconventional and enigmatic twists that are both genuine and timely. Kassad first began with an EP entitled “Humans” in January 2016, A year later, Kassad released “Faces Turn Away”, the debut album independently on Bandcamp. Now, a few months later Kassad’s debut album will be released on Hypnotic Dirge in a 4 panel sleeve with a booklet and sticker. Album release is set for July 6, 2017 in a limitation of 300 copies.
