Ov Shadows is a Black Metal band from Gothenberg, Sweden. Rising from the ashes of "Waning", a band that all four members previously played in, Ov Shadows introduced their sound with the 2016 self-released EP "Monologues" before releasing its first full-length album "The Darkness Between Stars" in 2018. This summer, Ov Shadows returns with their second full-length and first release on Hypnotic Dirge Records. Entitled "I Djävulens Avbild" (In the Devil's Image), the new record presents Ov Shadows at an unprecedented ferocity and forward-momentum, and apparently very intent on proving that to their listeners immediately, as pummeling drums and a heavy galloping riff fill the speakers within seconds of the opening track "Den Eld Som Tär Och Förvrider." Throughout "I Djävulens Avbild, the pace hardly ever lets up, instead taking you on an all-out sensory assault. The combination of infectious riffs, recurring hooks, blastbeats, and tortured vocals create an enveloping claustrophobic and dark dissonance, as if a shroud has covered your face and defined forms have turned to shadows. Despite its unrelenting nature, the details really shine through on "I Djävulens Avbild" thanks to its clear production, precise musicianship, and deliberate flow. The few times where the record does slow down become quite memorable due to the contrast. The use of powerful percussion and austere bass create a trance-inducing atmosphere while discordant tremolo-picked melodies soar overhead creating a wonderful juxtaposition that crescendos into catharsis. "Ov shadows is about exploring and embracing the dark aspects that dwell within us all – your ‘shadows-self’ as Carl Jung expressed it. OZ - финская группа, исполняющая heavy metal, образованная в далеком 1977 году. Выпустив 5 полноформатников, группа распалась в 1991 и вновь собралась в феврале 2010 в Швеции. Итогом реюниона стал альбом "Burning Leather" (2011), в который помимо новых треков также вошли перезаписанные старые хиты. Новое звучание и неожиданное возвращение стало приятным подарком для всех поклонников heavy metal старой школы в духе HEAVY LOAD, THOR и SILVER MOUNTAIN. Седьмой альбом финнов "Transition State" вышел в 2017-м году на AFM Records. "Forced Commandments" - восьмой полноформатный альбом OZ, вышедший 22-го мая 2020-го на Massacre Records. Сведением и мастерингом нового альбома занимались Lars "Chriss" Christmansson (гитарист LION'S SHARE) и Mike Lind из шведской студии Masterplant, уже работавшие с OZ над предыдущим альбомом "Transition State" (2017), а также с релизами групп CANDLEMASS и VINDICTIV. Обложку к "Forced Commandments" нарисовал Carl-André Beckston, делавший оформление для альбомов таких групп, как BLOODBOUND, PLACE VENDOME, BOOK OF REFLECTIONS и многих других.

Most possibly a new name to most..... PANDO are an entity emanating from West Massachussetts in the US of A. Pando don't subscribe to any defined or constraining perceptions of genre - they just do what they do. However, what they do sounds incredible - it is an epiphany to these ears. It moulds together rhythmical structures, mellow noise, samples and recorded oddities - into an amalgamation of lush perfection. There are no comparisons to make - but I can catch fleeting glimpses of Portishead, Morthound, Future Sound of London, The Doors and submerging into ambient noise..... As Pando themseves re-iterate: ....sonically, hiraeth contains various field recordings, experiments, samples, and sound manipulations including a collection of photography, conversations, and artwork gathered by pando throughout the years and digitally rendered into raw audio data in the form of noise. voicemails and audio recordings of memories and experiences were obtained from friends and family through the use of social media and phone calls. Hard to describe - but anyone reading is strongly encouraged to check this out....
