DARKNESS - немецкая thrash metal группа, активная с 1984-го по 1991-ый. В 2004-ом группа собрала реюнион под именем EURE ERBEN и в таком виде просуществовала до 2012-го, даже выпустив один альбом. В 2013-ом группа вернулась к первоначальному названию. В дискографии DARKNESS немало демо-записей, пара компиляций и четыре полноформатных альбома. "First Class Violence" - пятый полноформатный альбом DARKNESS, релиз которого состоялся 12-го октября 2018-го на Massacre Records. Мастерингом "First Class Violence" занимался Dennis Köhne, работавший с альбомами групп EXUMER, ORDEN OGAN, ONKEL TOM ANGELRIPPER. В качестве гостей на альбоме приняли участие Jürgen "Ventor" Reil (KREATOR) и Tom Angelripper (SODOM). Packaged in a jewel case, a 16-page booklet. EDGUY - немецкая power metal группа, основанная в 1992-м году 14-летними студентами, в основе которой был вокалист (и басист на ранних работах) Tobias Sammet, гитарист Dirk Sauer, барабанщик Dominik Storch и гитарист Jens Ludwig. Для названия группы они взяли прозвище своего учителя по математике, которого между собой называли "Edguy". В дискографии группы несколько дэмок, EP и синглов, пара концертных релизов и компиляций, DVD и десять полноформатных альбомов. "Kingdom of Madness" - дебютный полноформатный альбом EDGUY, релиз которого состоялся в феврале 1997-го года. По факту это уже вторая работа немцев, т.к. первым релизом группы стал альбом "Savage Poetry", выпущенный собственными силами EDGUY в 1995-м, но тираж и подход больше походил на дэмо-запись, и в 2000-м году EDGUY перезаписали "The Savage Poetry" с другим треклистом. ARTILLERY - трэш-метал-группа из Дании, сформированная в 1982 году, стоявшая у истоков быстрой риффовой музыки наравне с CORONER, VIOVOD и MEGADETH. После выпуска ряда демок и трех полноформатных альбомов, один из которых был выпущен на лейбле Roadrunner Records, а также громких туров и концертов, включая выступление в СССР в 1989 году, к 1991 году группа решила взять перерыв вплоть до 1998 года. В 2000 году группа снова распалась и собралась вновь только в 2007 году, продолжая активность по сей день. "The Face of Fear" - девятый полноформатный альбом ARTILLERY, вышедший 16-го ноября на Metal Blade Records. Запись, сведение и вся работа над альбомом была проделана в датской Medley Studio под руководством Søren'a Andersen'a, как и в случае с предыдущими четырьмя работами ARTILLERY. Данное издание включает два бонус-трека и выполнено в формате CD с 12-страничным буклетом, часть тиража издана в виде 6-панельного диджипака.

STEVE HACKETT - 68-летний английский музыкант, продюсер и исполнитель, известный в первую очередь как гитарист легендарных прогрессив-рокеров GENESIS. Стив был задействован в записи шести полноформатных альбомов GENESIS c 1970-го по 1977-ой, а также участвовал в нескольких реюнион шоу и попал в "Зал славы рок-н-ролла" вместе с GENESIS в 2010-ом. Еще будучи в составе GENESIS в 70-ых, Стив начал выпускать сольные работы. "At the Edge of Light" - 25-ый полноформатный альбом Стива Хакетта, вышедший 25-го января на InsideOut Music. В записи нового альбома Стив использовал народные инструменты народов мира, такие как дудук, ситар, диджериду (духовой музыкальный инструмент аборигенов Австралии) и тар. Ранее (в июле 2018-го) Хоффман, вновь покинувший коллектив, скончался от рака в возрасте 51-го года. Фил решил отдать дань уважения другу и коллеге по группе, обновил состав и посвятил "The 13th Beast" Хоффману. Сведением и мастерингом нового альбома (как и предыдущего полноформатника "Dead Man's Path" '2015) занимался Dan Swanö в собственной студии Unisound, работавший с ASPHYX, CUT UP, ENTRAILS и многими другими.

Название нового CD группы «Система Безопасности» представляет собой игру слов «снег» и «нежность», которая задает настроение всему альбому. Действительно, являясь философски отстраненным, задумчивым и холодным, но в тоже время чувственным, эмоциональным и теплым, на данный момент это самый нежный и самый снежный альбом, записанный Владимиром (ВлаДом) Дорониным. Мистические лейтмотивы, ставшие фирменным стилем творчества «Системы Безопасности» составляют основу и этого опуса. Наиболее ярко раскрываются они в заглавной композиции «Маша» – эзотерическая вариация на тему русской народно поговорки - "Хороша Маша, да не наша", представленная в своеобразной интерпретации и соответствующем контексту символизме: цинизм, оккультизм, постмодернизм, черный юмор, агапэ и суровая мужская любовь. В общем Бафомет в ребро, рога и копыта! Одноименная, с названием альбома, композиция «Снежность» на некоторое время снимает тревожное напряжение и в качестве местной анестезии притупляет боль незакрытого гештальта прозрачной, тонкой и невесомой тканью звуковой текстуры. После чего происходит новое погружение в темные мистические глубины композиции «42 фуэте» – философское размышление о скоротечности времени, о хрупкой природе человека и относительности бытия. На смену этой композиции приходит гипнотическая «Солнце, махаон, пчела и пионы», психоделическое настроение которой завершается безмятежной релаксирующей негой. Судя по названию, ее звуковые образы несут отдаленный намек на работу Сальвадора Дали – «Сон, вызванный полётом пчелы вокруг граната, за секунду до пробуждения». Светлая печаль композиции «Чёрт и Принцесса», сказочный символизм которой отсылает к визуальному оформлению альбома, сменяется вязким и вибрирующим гудением Gudron, а завершается альбом вкрадчивой колыбельной. В целом новый CD «Системы Безопасности» концептуально акцентирует внимание на дуальном соотношение противоположных начал: темноты и света, мудрости и наивности, безысходности и надежды, что в какой-то степени отсылает к «Песням невинности и опыта» Уильяма Блэйка. При этом контраст и сочетания разных стилей придает альбому художественное разнообразие, многозначность, целостность и завершенный характер.

POISON BLOOD is a collaboration between Jenks Miller (Horseback) and Neill Jameson (Krieg). Coming off the heels of their latest full-length album “Le passage des glaciers”, this fall the Canadian Death-Doom act Norilsk returns with a collection of new material linked in concept with its previous full-length while also showcasing Norilsk’s more collaborative and multi-faceted nature. It retains the band's signature sound developed on its two full-length albums, and brings forward further openness to an array of doom-related influences. The new mini-album, entitled “Weepers of the Land” is made up of four new compositions as well as a Mylene Farmer cover song (Tomber 7 fois), previously released in Russia on a limited edition compilation CD, and completely remixed. The new compositions include collaborations with other Canadian musicians including Damian Smith (Altars of Grief), Joshua Cayer (Longhouse), Ben Forte (North East Bistro, TGRE), and long-time collaborator Mort Marion (Outrage AD, Blood Moon Knights). “Weepers of the Land” should be viewed as a companion album to “Le passage des glaciers” as the songs were written and recorded during the same time period. The album will be presented in a 4 panel digipack with artwork from William Blair Bruce (1859-1906) and released worldwide on October 12, 2018.

Hypnotic Dirge and Throats Production presents the release an intense nature-themed atmospheric Black Metal split record entitled "Origins" between two great atmospheric bands - Ah Ciliz and Chiral. Ah Ciliz is an atmospheric Black Metal band founded by Elmer (Klär, Painful Depression) in 2008. The history of the project now includes four full-length albums, and a split with Griefthorn all released between 2011-2014. Three years later, Ah Ciliz returns with three excellent new songs for the "Origins" split focused on indigenous cultures, nature, and the cosmos. The songs from Ah Ciliz span between powerful, triumphant, beautiful, and spiritial throughout its duration which is aided by varied and interesting riffs, soaring leads, and an atmosphere that matches the lyrical themes perfectly. Chiral is an Italian one-man band from the countryside near Piacenza, set up at the end of 2013. His compositions shine of a dim light dwelling through the branches, alternating solar as well as gloomy moments. Folkish instruments are used to guide the listener through contemplation, while gentle veils of synths are crafting a misty and mysterious aura. If the dreamy and hypnotic atmosphere of Lustre met with the breathless wonder of Falls of Rauros' melodies, and the wild raw guitar lines of Wolves in the Throne Room, that would be probably be what Chiral sounds like. Epitimia's new double-album "(Un)reality" is a culmination of over a year's hard work for the Saint-Petersburg based band which has been working on an expansive and ambitious follow-up to their last album "Faces of Insanity" released in the summer of 2012. "(Un)reality" includes lots of new innovations and interesting ideas on both the musical and conceptual sides and could easily be considered their most accomplished effort to date. Tortured black metal screams alongside a progressive and experimental cacophony of sounds combine to create a truly memorable and complex album taking various elements from many genres including post-rock, black metal, blackgaze, ambient, and jazz to create the sonic palette for this conceptual story. Female vocalist “M.” is also present on the album once again as well as very interesting session work from the saxophonist D’arcy Molan (from the debut Subterranean Disposition album) whose contributions appears throughout the album. Released in a deluxe 6 panel digipack with an additional 12 page booklet and augmented with artwork from Mayhem Design in Russia, this is certainly Epitimia’s magnum opus! “(Un)reality is like limbo, the world where the hero lingers. His day life here is infinite and artificial, but his dreams fill his mind with bright new images, odd flashbacks, and the reminiscence of his other lives. These visions are the keys to understanding what is happening to him, and may be the only chance to escape. “Delusion” contains the dark images of objective reality while “Illusions” is a moment in which all his dreams merge: hope, love and as the most important – the desire for truth, by which he will be free forever.”

Silent Path is another musical project from Saman Nu, the musician from Tehran, Iran behind the atmospheric Black Metal project, Ekove Efrits. While with Ekove Efrits, Saman creates a rich and textured atmospheric sound which is filled with soaring melodies, doom-laden ambience, and deep melancholy, Silent Path however is a completely different beast altogether. The sound is grittier, darker, and much less optimistic and brings together elements of down-tempo depressive black metal, funeral doom, and ambience. with a strong emphasis on soaring melancholic riffs. This album is a bleak hour-long journey into the depravity that humanity is capable of, and should appeal to all fans of depressive black metal, in particular those who enjoy Exiled From Light, and Ekove Efrits. This album was originally completed in 2009 and now finally gets an official release, complete with a 16 page booklet including lyrics, notes, and more.
