Vofa is an ensemble of Icelandic musicians with various backgrounds. For the past 15 years all members have contributed to the Icelandic underground scene, across various genres like: black metal, death metal, punk, grindcore, hardcore, electronica, folk, and doom. Vofa, in turn, is an exploration of the bleak side of life. Their music is rooted in cold & grim doom soundscapes of mysticism & horror, fuelled by the harsh natural essence of their homeland. The self titled debut album from Vofa is a three part journey of spirituality, depression, and the ethereal beauty of our meaningless existence. Elusive God’s intention is to express our creative visions through slow, heavy and atmospheric music.
In a way, this is the return of metal. Why? Because the music that used to blow us away with energy, honesty, meaning and nonconformity is in the wake of extinction. It's dominated by a complete lack of creative vision and playing by established patterns with total disregard of the mystery and visual component. Yet, maybe the most unfortunate fact is a complete loss of the mystical and dark aura that used to embrace the whole genre with all of its performers.
Metal as we see it is over the top, mysterious, layered and it takes much more than superficial listening or consuming to delve deeper into the very message that music conveys. It also has a strong visual imagery that, along with the musical part, represents two sides of the same coin which cannot exist without each other.

После выхода пятого альбома "Assembly" Liv Kristine уволили из группы в 2003-м году, заменив на Nell Sigland (ex-THE CREST, ex-THE COVENANT), с которой THEATRE OF TRAGEDY выпустили два последних полноформатника "Storm" (2006) и "Forever Is the World" (2009). "Assembly" - пятый полноформатный альбом THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, вышедший в марте 2002-го на Nuclear Blast. Это последний студийный релиз группы с Лив Кристин в качестве вокалистки. ALCATRAZZ - англо-американская heavy metal группа, созданная в 1983-ем году Грэмом Боннетом (ex-RAINBOW) и двумя участниками группы NEW ENGLAND. В разное время в составе ALCATRAZZ побывали такие музыканты как Стив Вай, Ингви Мальмстин, Клайв Бэрр (один из первых барабанщиков IRON MAIDEN) и многие другие. ALCATRAZZ дважды прекращали деятельность (с 1987-го по 2007-ой и с 2014-го по 2019-ый), а в их дискографии шесть концертников, несколько бокс-сэтов и всего три полноформатных альбома. "Born Innocent" - четвертый альбом ALCATRAZZ, вышедший 31-го июля 2020-го на Silver Lining Music. Это первая полноформатная работа группы с момента релиза предыдущей пластинки "Dangerous Games" (1986). В качестве гостей на альбоме выступили Steve Vai, Chris Impellitteri, Bob Kulick (R.I.P.), Nozomu Wakai, Don Van Stavern (RIOT V), Jeff Waters (ANNIHILATOR), Dario Mollo (VOODOO HILL). "Heritage Of Putrescent" is the first full length album from one of the eldest death metal Russian bands (formed back in 1993). This album consists of re-recorded songs which were previously released on MCs (mainly during the 90's). Despite the fact that the songs were created a considerably long time ago and also represent different years, the album's sound is rather fresh and powerful. Musically, the album is made in FESTERGUTS' trademark style - old school death metal with keyboard and operatic soprano backing vocals. Such combination allows to make the sound monumental with a gloomier feel. The album's title is fully reflected not only in their music but also in the cover art. A family, in a fit of madness, is eating the guts of their late relative. The cover artwork idea was embodied by Canadian horror actors and models (the youngest model at the moment of the photo session had barely reached age of two!) Mixing and mastering were done at one of Russia's best metal record studios - the NavahoHut Records.
