The album "Debitum et Fides" (Duty and Fidelity) conception is reflected in its title. It represents the philosophical and hermetic idea of eternal recurrence – the birth and death of the world. In the cultural aspect the “dark” age of desacralization and loss of enduring values is opposed to the possibility of spiritual revival and restoration. It is a severe law of unity and conflict of interconnected and interdependent opposites. It is two elements, two origins which allegorically are the warlike aggressive masculine and life-affirming feminine principles. “Duty and Fidelity” is a motto on the shield or standard of a knight. It is no mean task and it is deliberate choice between what is right and what is easier. According to its mood and theme it can be described as esoteric dark folk, although it is not quite so, as the band’s works go far beyond any one particular style. In this regard the new release is not an exception: it also spreads across various genres. There are different types of guitars and bass, keyboard instruments and piano, metallophone, wind instruments, zhaleyka and many others. The stressed sound of percussion contributes to the strictness and sharpness of the album while analogous synthesizers give psychedelic tints. All in all music sounds clear and transparent due to the right proportions of heavy and acoustic compositions. The original lyrics which are woven of symbols and allegories leave it to the listeners to imagine and speculate. Impressive diverse images and plenty of emotional shades give rise to a great number of meanings and associations. The album’s design is also worth mentioning. The costumes and properties used in the photoshoot were specially chosen to create a visual content that would reflect the common idea of the albums. Instrumental album “Cosmogony and Eschatology”. The main ideas here are embodied not in poetic but in sound images. It is a gorgeous and multicoloured mosaic diligently made of avant-garde of various kinds, dark ambient, noise and industrial. A detonating mixture of electronic sounds and acoustic instruments spiced with battle epic motives and encrusted with ritual vocal inclusions. The work is based on contrasts and like an alchemical crucible it transforms different component elements in an integrated unity.
