Szczególnie „Till The Clouds Fly” jakże sugestywnie przemawia do wyobraźni.

This is actually a re-release. "Through Eternity" was originally released in 1997 by R. i. P. Productions with support of Czech label Leviathan Records. This is the debut album of Russian Metal band S. C. A. L. P. Formed in 1991, they released three demos before this album was released, one single, one compilation and two more full-length albums have been released (one of which, the latest, is reviewed elsewhere on this website). The music structurally reminds me of Death Metal, especially in the faster parts where the music gets a bit rawer and rougher and the singer does some semi-growling but there is much more to this music. For the most parts it actually reminds me more of traditional Heavy Metal and epic Doom Metal, especially in the slower parts (duh!). There is both weight and melody in the music, it sort of reminds me of early Paradise Lost. Not bad at all to be honest, it feels a it shattered at times and some of the riffs should have been left out of the recording (they can do better) but overall an interesting release.

Actually this is 1997 year' album from this old Russian doom metal band, but at least we can hold this on CD! Well, I think most of you should remember this “cult” album, aren't you? But for those who very young and didn't heard this album, I'll tell – S.C.A.L.P. is pretty old band from Russia , and their music is doom metal, with some death metal elements (mainly in rhythmical structure), such dense and massive… Some ones can say something like – “ah, those days “our” musicians weren't able play worthy stuff” and etc… but I'll disappoint you… Music on this album is professional and just great! For those more than 12 years ago time it was really good stuff, AND even TODAY this album sounds very good and even fresh! As I told, there's doom metal with death metal tunes, and music is made in various tempos, both fast and slow, with impressing tempo-changes and reach musical structure… nothing weak or boring, but just depressive and at the same time melancholic doom/death metal, with clear and rough vocals… Also concerning this album I can freely say – here's soul, means musicians made it with full of possession and they has put there all their inner scars and experiencing, like this is mirrors of their souls… Very deep and depressive atmosphere is here as well… Songs structure is interesting and catching, reach for massive rhythms and good guitar solos, together with tight bass lines and drumming… This album was re-mastered back in the year of 2005, so here's new sound; I don't remember what the sound was there on original, as I can't find that Tape J , but here's pretty good one, slightly raw but good and massive… So, all I'll add now – if you like doom metal – you SHOULD have this album! Today is today, today there are thousands of bands, but this record still brings some almost forgotten feelings, at least for those of us who are not 2-5 years in the metal…
