RHAPSODY OF FIRE - одна из известнейших sympho/power метал-групп Италии, сформированная в 1993 году под первоначальным названием THUNDERCROSS. В 2011 году группу покинул гитарист и один из основателей RHAPSODY OF FIRE Лука Турилли, и на сегодняшний день из оригинального состава в RHAPSODY OF FIRE остался только клавишник Alessandro "Alex" Staropoli. "The Eighth Mountain" - двенадцатый полноформатный альбом итальянцев, релиз которого состоялся 22-го февраля на AFM Records. Альбом является первой частью саги "The Nephilim's Empire Saga" и записан с участием нового вокалиста Giacomo Voli и барабанщика Manuel Lotter, уже участвовавшие в записи предыдущего релиза группы "Legendary Years". Сведением и мастерингом нового альбома занимался Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann (ORDEN OGAN) из Greenman Studios (VANISHING POINT, BRAINSTORM, HUMAN FORTRESS). Обложку нарисовал Alex Charleux, фрилансер художник компании Ubisoft, уже работавший над оформлением альбома "Legendary Years" и ряда синглов RHAPSODY OF FIRE. Данное издание выпущено в формате CD с 24-страничным буклетом, часть тиража выполнена в виде 6-панельного диджипака. First press of 300 copies packaged in a 6-panel digipak with 24-page booklet.

CYNIC - культовая американская progressive metal группа, созданная в 1987-ом году гитаристом Полом Масвидалом и барабанщиком Шоном Рейнертом. Первые демо-записи были выдержаны в духе традиционного трэш-метала, но к дебютному альбому "Focus" (1993) творчество CYNIC уже представляло сплав из джаза, прогрессива и техничного death metal, задавшее высокую планку для многих коллективов на долгие годы вперед. Группа прекратила существование в 1994-ом году и вновь продолжила деятельность только в 2006-ом, выпустив альбомы "Traced in Air" (2008) и "Kindly Bent to Free Us" (2014). HATE - польская метал группа, сформированная в 1990-м году в Варшаве и исполняющая агрессивную смесь из black и death metal. Первоначально коллектив существовал под названием INFECTED (а чуть позже как SOMUCHHATE), но уже в 1991-м его сократили до HATE. В дискографии HATE несколько демок, EP, пара компиляций и одиннадцать полноформатных альбомов, а из оригинального состава на сегодняшний день остался только основатель группы, гитарист/вокалист Adam "the First Sinner" Buszko. "Rugia" - двенадцатый полноформатный альбом HATE, вышедший 15-го октября 2021-го на Metal Blade Records. PRESTIGE - финская thrash metal группа, образованная в 1987-ом году. Просуществовав с 1987-го по 1992-ой и выпустив три полноформатных альбома, группа приостановила деятельность, а музыканты взяли перерыв - гитарист Jan “Örkki” Yrlund переехал в Нидерланды и присоединился к LACRIMOSA (также участвовал в ANCIENT RITES, DANSE MACABRE, IMPERIA и других группах), параллельно создав студию Darkgrove Design, занимаясь обложками и оформлением альбомов KORPIKLAANI, MORS PRINCIPIUM EST, AMBERIAN DAWN и многих других. Вокалист/басист Aku Kytölä создал PAHA USKONTO (кавер-группу BAD RELIGION), а также играл в других группах, среди которых были KILL ME GENTLY и VULTURE CLUB. В 2007-ом лэйбл Poko Records выпустил ”Best Of” компиляцию PRESTIGE, после чего группа собралась снова, выступая на крупных метал-фестивалях Финляндии и вне её. ALCATRAZZ - англо-американская heavy metal группа, созданная в 1983-ем году Грэмом Боннетом (ex-RAINBOW) и двумя участниками группы NEW ENGLAND. В разное время в составе ALCATRAZZ побывали такие музыканты как Стив Вай, Ингви Мальмстин, Клайв Бэрр (один из первых барабанщиков IRON MAIDEN) и многие другие. В 2020-ом состоялся выход четертого альбома "Born Innocent", после чего Боннет разругался с группой и покинул ее, заявив что продолжит выступать под именем ALCATRAZZ c другим составом. Soijl is a special project established by Swedish multi-instrumentalist Mattias Svensson (Saturnus, Istapp, Vanmakt, Nidrike) many years ago, however, only in late 2014 the band started recording the official 3-song demo. The songs received positive response among fans of doom music and the band continued to work with enthusiasm over the other tracks. The album is called «Endless Elysian Fields» and contains seven songs lasting for a total of about an hour and stylistically tending to atmospheric doom death metal. According to the band members, these are "7 tracks full of total despair and fear", as the lyrics of the album tell mostly about people with suicidal tendencies and what is going on in their heads.The disc comes with a luxurious 20-page booklet. The album "Debitum et Fides" (Duty and Fidelity) conception is reflected in its title. It represents the philosophical and hermetic idea of eternal recurrence – the birth and death of the world. In the cultural aspect the “dark” age of desacralization and loss of enduring values is opposed to the possibility of spiritual revival and restoration. It is a severe law of unity and conflict of interconnected and interdependent opposites. It is two elements, two origins which allegorically are the warlike aggressive masculine and life-affirming feminine principles. “Duty and Fidelity” is a motto on the shield or standard of a knight. It is no mean task and it is deliberate choice between what is right and what is easier. According to its mood and theme it can be described as esoteric dark folk, although it is not quite so, as the band’s works go far beyond any one particular style. In this regard the new release is not an exception: it also spreads across various genres. There are different types of guitars and bass, keyboard instruments and piano, metallophone, wind instruments, zhaleyka and many others. The stressed sound of percussion contributes to the strictness and sharpness of the album while analogous synthesizers give psychedelic tints. All in all music sounds clear and transparent due to the right proportions of heavy and acoustic compositions. The original lyrics which are woven of symbols and allegories leave it to the listeners to imagine and speculate. Impressive diverse images and plenty of emotional shades give rise to a great number of meanings and associations. The album’s design is also worth mentioning. The costumes and properties used in the photoshoot were specially chosen to create a visual content that would reflect the common idea of the albums. Instrumental album “Cosmogony and Eschatology”. The main ideas here are embodied not in poetic but in sound images. It is a gorgeous and multicoloured mosaic diligently made of avant-garde of various kinds, dark ambient, noise and industrial. A detonating mixture of electronic sounds and acoustic instruments spiced with battle epic motives and encrusted with ritual vocal inclusions. The work is based on contrasts and like an alchemical crucible it transforms different component elements in an integrated unity.

Subterranean Disposition is an experimental death-doom recording project from Terry Vainoras, a veteran of the underground Australian metal scene spanning a career almost two decades in length and also known for his involvement with Cryptic Darkness, The Eternal, and Insomnius Dei. Whereas the older material was more synth-based ambient, the new material shows a nice progression from musician Elan O'Neal, and has a much more natural and organic feeling. Making use of various unique instruments such as a Tibetan singing bowl, a tambourine, wooden flute, violin, timpani, maracas, among others, as well as the use of field recordings, acoustic guitar, synth, and minimum vocals, when all is said and done, this is an ambitious and well-executed album spanning almost an hour in length. Primal also features guest appearances from some prolific special guests. Overall, this is a fantastic and diverse album which shows incredible maturity in a genre which can sometimes become repetitive and mundane, and should be definitely be appreciated by all fans of ambient, neo-folk, and experimental music.

Starting a voyage from the first to the final, ninth track, you, on the one hand, constantly feel like being inside a submarine called The Morningside, with boards painted in the color of autumn leaves. On the other hand, you understand that this boat can run dangerously close to the territorial waters controlled by the monsters of thrash / death metal, then quietly slip under the keels of the mossy sailing frigates, whose saloons sound like acoustic versions of Pink Floyd with interludes of lute music of the XVII century. In short, this album is equally recommended to old group fans, and those who choose it for the first acquaintance with the work of The Morningside.

Enthroning Silence is one of the oldest depressive and melancholic black metal band from north of Italy featuring ex members of Mortuary Drape, Bhopal, Eroded, Voids of Vomit. Enthroning Silence’ first 2002 album, ‘Unnamed Quintesence Of Grimness’ was released by cult german label Sombre Rec. Painiac Records put out the follow up, ‘A Dream Of Nightskies’, as a limited run of 500 copies in 2004. The following year Total Holocaust Records issued a CD format, restricted to 1000 copies. In 2013 after a long 9/year silence the band finally presented a brand new album featuring completely unreleased six desolate tracks composed and arranged during the past ten years. “Throned upon ashes of dusk” is about oppression and negativity, it’s a mournful, cruel and nihilistic opus bringing the listener to one of the most hypnotic audio experience of the modern black metal spectrum.
