ASSASSIN - одни из ветеранов немецкой thrash metal сцены, активные с 1982-го года. Первоначально коллектив существовал под названием SATANICA, но уже спустя год сменил его на ASSASSIN (вплоть до распада в 1989-ом году, когда все инструменты и аппаратура группы были украдены). Какое-то время музыканты пытались вновь собраться, но окончательный реюнион ASSASSIN состоялся в 2002-ом году. В дискографии группы несколько демозаписей, один DVD и пять полноформатных альбомов. "Bestia Immundis" - шестой полноформатный альбом ASSASSIN, вышедший 7-го февраля 2020-го на лэйбле Massacre Records. Записью и сведением занимался гитарист CALIBAN Marc Görtz на собственной студии Nemesis Studios, работавший с KREATOR, NASTY а также над предыдущим полноформатником ASSASSIN "Combat Cathedral" (2016). Мастеринг доверили Олману Вайперу (владельцу Hertzwerk Studio), доводившему до ума альбомы NEGATOR, DARK AGE, PYOGENESIS.

ATROCITY - немецкая death metal группа, сформированная в 1985-ом году Александром Круллом, который остается её фронтмэном по сей день. С 1985-го по 1988-ой группа играла грайндкор под именем INSTIGATORS, но позже сменила его на ATROCITY и выпустила дебютный death metal альбом "Hallucinations" (1990). Начиная с третьего альбома "Blut" (1994) ATROCITY стали экспериментировать с готическим звучанием, применением индастриал элементов и добавлением прочих, нестандартных для классического death metal звучания жанров. На сегодняшний день в дискографии группы семь полноформатных альбомов, с десяток сплитов, EP и демок, а также немало альбомов-коллабораций и компиляций. Весь состав ATROCITY полностью задействован в группе LEAVES' EYES. "Okkult II" - восьмой полноформатный альбом ATROCITY, релиз которого состоялся 6-го июля на Massacre Records. "Okkult II" является частью трилогии "Okkult", первая часть которой вышла на том же Massacre Records в апреле 2013-го и стала своеобразным возвращением ATROCITY к death metal корням с применением симфонических аранжировок. Started in Finland in the Summer of 2019, Autumnfall is a creation of Jussi Hänninen (ex-Fall of the Leafe, The Bleak Picture), conceived as spiritual successor to Fall of the Leafe’s early works. Soon after writing the first song Hänninen asked T. Ruohonen to join as the vocalist. A four track demo was released in late 2019 and it was during this time that Ruohonen asked O. Pirkkanen to join for the drum duties. Autumnfall pays tribute to FOTL first albums when mixing melodic black metal with some death metal elements while adding modern atmospheres and melodies. The first full-length album "Ghosts of Light" was written and recorded between 2019 and 2020, then mixed, mastered and digitally released in 2021. It was suppose to come out in physical format in 2021 but the plans fell through due to various reasons.

The jaw-dropping debut album by this French band. Hailing from Grenoble, Barús formed in 2015 and soon released their self-titled debut EP through Emanations (a division of Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions). Since mid-2016, work has been focused on their debut full-length album. Bearing the ominous title "Drowned", this is a bolt-from-the-blue work of unimaginable vision and towering might. Indeed, the term "βαρύς" evokes a weight, an overbearing burden. Through Barús, this takes musical form through a complex and utterly atmospheric -but, above all, completely and totally visceral- approach to Death Metal. Call it an alchemy of sorts, but "Drowned" presents a moltenly monolithic, ceaselessly churning sound merged with palpably progressive structures, frequently stretching into Black and Doom Metal territories -and effortlessly, at that- all compellingly completed by bowels-of-Hell deep vociferations and vocalizations spanning semi-clean moans, spoken word, chants and everything in between. Truly, it's a nightmare made flesh, its dissonance instilling an unshakable tension and terror, and yet Barús manage to make it sound so alluring, so tempting, to literally drown in the enormity they lay bare for the helpless listener. Drowned indeed! We don't usually dip our toes into "progressive" or "post" waters, favoring the musty odor of vintage Death Metal. However, when presented with Barús' "Drowned", we couldn't help but submit to their visionary onslaught on the senses. So, while we could describe them as "Autopsy reinterpreted by Meshuggah" or "Gojira and Gorguts jamming out to an old Demilich tune with Ulcerate's instruments," we're confident Barús should definitely appeal to fans of such daring bands as Gorguts, Triptykon, Ulcerate, Emptiness, Meshuggah, Portal, Diskord, Akercocke, Gojira, Sumac, Deathspell Omega, Altars and Chaos Echoes. Featuring 9 songs in a vast yet time-evaporating 56 minutes, the production on "Drowned" is absolutely stellar. The first and, possibly, the only album of this project, recorded using a studio-ritual approach and conceived mainly as a canonical manifestation of the sub-genre known as OCCULT BM. The main direction in music and overall material of the project is the objective side of the entire class of spells that can be perceived from the point of view of a living person with the prospects of a god. The urge was to relinquish worshiping the goat and mid-tempo melancholy in favor of evil guitars and hardline machinery-endurable drums. The concept summoned the guardians of the four cardinal directions as well as the living persons from Distorted Reality Production. Initially the album was designed and composed in two parts, however the epidemiological situation played its role and the material was released in the extended form of the seven keys. The academic approach to the practice of high magic is in the foreground here, while the vocals are used only to aptly give voice to the cosmic-scale chimera in the digestible form of an almost classical guitar tuning. An increased heart rate is required to access the blast beat waveform perception.

"Where My Demise Dwells", an album by the Moscow duo Bewailer, contains seven pieces for the survival of human soul within the depths of its own darkness. The key theme of the tracks is how the lyrical hero slowly goes from fierce antagonism against the hopelessness of his destiny to cold numbness, in which he can only contemplate of own decay and indifference of the whole creation. Nevertheless, a bleak glimmer of hope appears near the end of the album, a subtle glow leading to regeneration (or final demise). Musically this album combines traditional Death-Doom melodies and vocal techniques with dismal atmosphere of the bottomless gloom, more common for the Funeral Doom sub-genre. Besides the usual rhythm, bass and lead guitars and drums, one may expect steady use of piano, synth pads and acoustic guitars. The vocal techniques include shrieks and low-pitched growls, with some addition of female clean vocals. Some of the bands that inspired Bewailer are Saturnus, My Dying Bride, Mourning Beloveth, Evoken, Voidhaven and Dolorian.
