It’s been almost 15 years since death doom act Intaglio released their debut album, and now they are back with some ambitious new material. “The Memory of Death” is a demo single from the forthcoming new album currently in production.
Intaglio has always been a project that’s not afraid to push boundaries and set new standards in the genre. The extensive use of double bass and cello injects a unique character into the recording, and is just one of many things that helps make the band stand out from its peers in death doom metal. Even though it’s only a demo, “The Memory of Death” is a huge step up from the debut in terms of composition and production value.
The full length album is scheduled to be released in 2021.
Fortress of sound equal to the brutal cosmic punch in the face of an ancient disgusting mythological giant awakened from the aeons of eternal sleep by earth-shaking, almost razor-sharp epic riffs. Expression at the very limit of suffering, anger, bitterness and euphoria, intertwined with embodiment of the darkest thoughts from the deepest corners of the soul and consciousness. This is doom. This is metal from Croatia. For us, it's really all about the return of the mysticism. It's all about bringing back darker, "larger than life" story into the music. It’s about bringing back the meaning and reconnecting with what matters most - expression, art and the story it tells. Elusive God’s intention is to express our creative visions through slow, heavy and atmospheric music. In a way, this is the return of metal. Why? Because the music that used to blow us away with energy, honesty, meaning and nonconformity is in the wake of extinction. It's dominated by a complete lack of creative vision and playing by established patterns with total disregard of the mystery and visual component. Yet, maybe the most unfortunate fact is a complete loss of the mystical and dark aura that used to embrace the whole genre with all of its performers. Metal as we see it is over the top, mysterious, layered and it takes much more than superficial listening or consuming to delve deeper into the very message that music conveys. It also has a strong visual imagery that, along with the musical part, represents two sides of the same coin which cannot exist without each other.
A fresh single by the Russian doom death metal band RESTLESS OBLIVION preceding the new album demonstrates loyalty to their style and high creative potential of the musicians, which has not bleached over the years since the debut album "Sands of Time", which once received high scores from fans and professional critics.
In honor of the 200th anniversary of the release of the classic work of the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) "Prometheus Unbound", atmospheric doom/death metal outfit SHALLOW RIVERS present to all of ye its new conceptual epic poem of the same name for the romantic drama, based on it. The band tried to convey, within the framework of their musical style, the atmosphere and grandeur of the ancient Greek era, the endless torment of the protagonist and his indestructible spirit, burning as a guiding star for everyone.
In anticipation of a full-length album that's scheduled for late 2021, Intaglio are ready to share a new single with listeners. The composition "Subject To Time" is presented in a simplified form in order to provide first impressions of the conceptual work that is the upcoming record. A number of various musicians took part in the recording of the album, performing the live drums as well as a variety of classical instruments. The new single from the brilliant band AMEDERIA serves as a bridge from their previous album "Unheard Prayer" to their future work. "Step Into The Light" is a movement towards the call that reaches through thunder and wind.
Debut A Cold Dead Body’s album “Harvest Years” is a trail through 9 steps, from the "Semen" to the "Divinity". There is a story inside the album, not just music and words. Music and words create the atmosphere, but the written story has the sense of the whole album. It's a concept about a journey, about human ambition, about the conflict between humanity and nature, it's a concept based on the sense of life, technology and the meaning of death. Recorded and mixed at: Mushroom Studio, by Enrico Berto. Mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Sunn O))), Isis, Pelican, Earth). One of the best acts around. Must have!! CD released in Cardboard (Mini LP) Sleeve pack.
The second long-awaited album by Russian masters of melancholic metal, The Morningside "Moving Crosscurrent Of Time", holds the direction chosen at the debut band album demonstrating combination of lyrical and heavy compositions touched with the mood of slight sorrow. New The Morningside work also demonstrates tendency to melodic complication while fragmental parties of atmospheric keyboards associating with Eduard Artemyev’s works ("Solaris", "Stalker") add depth to the album sound. The essential part of this album is inspired by Ray Bradbury’ novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes". Brand new album of The Morningside will be a perfect present both for old band’s fans and for all those Katatonia and Agalloch fans longing for a breath of autumn air filled with fallen leaves smell. The album is issued on a gold-plated CD with pit-art.
